UNDERSTANDING THE MIND: a Buddhist perspective

Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:15 pm

with Gen Kelsang Suma

cost: $10 (free for members)

This series of classes is a practical guide to understanding our mind. We will learn how to recognize our painful ways of thinking and, with practice, to replace them with deeply meaningful and beneficial states of mind. How? Using wisdom, mindfulness and meditation.

Although part of a series, each class is self-contained, and consists of guided meditation, a teaching, and time for questions and discussion.

Happiness and suffering are feelings – parts of our mind – and so their main causes are not to be found outside the mind. If we really want to be truly happy and free from suffering we must improve our understanding of the mind.
