“Not only can we give material help to those who need it, but we can also give our time, goodwill and love to everyone we meet” (Geshe Kelsang Gyatso)
Sometimes, especially around this time of year, ‘giving’ can feel stressful and burdensome, a ‘should’ that we may even come to resent. Buddha taught that living beings are by nature generous, and that once we can clear away these confusing minds, giving can become a source of immense benefit and joy to ourselves and others. We will take the time to explore this teaching more deeply, and learn a beautiful Buddhist meditation on the practice of giving, one that is especially well suited to the holiday season.
