Beautiful Mantra for the New Year

A day retreat

The word ‘mantra’ literally means ‘mind protection’.

Reciting mantras as we go about our daily life can help to shield our mind from negative thinking and keep it uplifted, focused and well-intentioned.

Throughout the day (and night!) we can adopt the following beautiful Buddhist prayer as a mantra:

May everyone be happy,

May everyone be free from misery,

May no one ever be separated from their happiness,

May everyone have equanimity, free from hatred and attachment.

We join this powerful prayer with a strong vision of living beings everywhere attaining four transcendent states: those of genuine happiness, permanent freedom from all sorrows and setbacks, the quiet calm of a balanced mind and a heart overflowing with joy.

If everyone were to actively embrace such a wish, the barriers to world peace would quickly fall.

In our day retreat, Gen Kelsang Suma will help us explore the meaning and practice of reciting, contemplating and meditating on this powerful mantra.

This retreat will be live-streamed for monthly subscribers.
